The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry - Flying "M" for Mann

The Isle of Man Aircraft Register as the first dedicated high quality business aircraft register in Europe. It was established to provide a customer focused service for the registration of high quality private and corporate jets and high quality turbine-engine helicopters. Isle of Man registered aircraft cannot be used for Commercial Air Transport.

The register operates under the auspices of the UK, as the Contracting State to the Chicago Convention.

All aircraft registered in the Isle of Man bear the prefix M, followed by four characters, for example, M-MANN, in the format of the major European registers.

The register offers the same high international standards as the familiar United Kingdom “G” prefix, though with a focused, customer service orientation and capabilities – yet with charges comfortably lower than other European and offshore registers.

Although the register is open to all non-commercial planes, it is of particular interest to professionally flown corporate aircraft, which are increasingly popular with business travellers wishing to circumvent the stress, congestion and inconvenience of commercial airline travel.

All users of the register will be able to benefit from the Isle of Man’s favourable tax regime. In addition to a zero rate of corporation tax, there is no Isle of Man insurance premium tax (usually 5%).

The Isle of Man offers aircraft owners and operators:

  • High service levels and quality international reputation
  • High regulatory standards
  • Neutral nationality registration mark
  • A favourable and progressive tax regime
  • Competitive rates
  • Zero corporate tax
  • No insurance premium tax
  • Security of mortgages registered on the Island
  • Efficient, twenty-four hour, registration service
  • The first dedicated corporate aircraft register service in a European time zone
